1. Sacred and historic city of Kandy

The city of Kandy is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a city of ample cultural and religious importance. The Temple of the Tooth Relic is a highly venerated Buddhist temple which homes the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha and is a location held in high regard among both the locals and tourists. While you stay at Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, don’t forget to take a walk around the lake, the ancient city and pay homage to the sacred Tooth.

2. Scenic and chilly Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is locally called the “Little England”, owing to the chilly climate in Nuwara Eliya. Whilst in Nuwara Eliya, you will surely be mesmerized by the endless terrains of tea plantations and the rolling green and luscious mountains which make for the best views and landscapes. 3. Ancient city of Galle

The ancient city of Galle situated in Sri Lanka’s southwestern tip is most popularly known for the old city initially built by the Portugese in the 16th century. The old Dutch Fort and its fortifications make Galle an exciting must visit city in Colombo. Among the famous tourist destinations in Sri Lanka is the 18th century lighthouse which offers its visitors a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean. If you’re more of a history and culture enthusiast, Sri Lanka has so much to offer and Kataragama should be right on top of your list of must visit cities in Sri Lanka. Kataragama homes the Maha Devala Temple, a multi-religious sacred site of Sri Lanka which is frequented by not just Buddhists and Hindus but even Muslims and Catholics.
