Best time for a Maldives destination wedding
The Maldives has been blessed with a warm and tropical climate all year round! However, there are two main seasons, the dry season (northeast monsoon) and wet season (southwest monsoon). The dry season extends from January to March and the wet from mid-May to November. April and December tend to transitional periods between the two seasons. For the most amount of sunshine, make sure you plan your wedding for the dry season!

Marriage legalities in the Maldives
Although weddings in the Maldives are really popular, it is not possible for two foreign nationals to be legally married in the Maldives. Basically, the marriage vows you take in the Maldives will not be legally binding when you head home. Whilst you throw a party and celebrate your marriage union in the Maldives, it is best if the legalities are performed at home.

Approximate cost for a wedding
It is a much known fact that weddings are an expensive ordeal, but a destination wedding in the Maldives may just be the way to go about it! Maldives weddings are substantially cheaper than another wedding and you can also save up on your honeymoon costs. A wedding package in the Maldives starts from USD 2200.

Being mindful of cultural etiquette
Maldivians are generally very conservative, however, within the resorts, the cultural norms are pretty relaxed. Although the restaurants at the resorts do not allow swimwear, if not casual and beachwear are the usual and preferred dress code. However, importing alcohol and pork and exporting seashells, sand and corals are strictly prohibited, so make sure you don’t pack any of these items.
